Bally Bet is a participating operator in GamProtect – a safer gambling scheme used across UK-licensed operators to help protect players.
Here's how it works. Participating operators use GamProtect to share a small amount of customer information with each other once a player has been identified as being at serious risk of gambling-related harm. That shared view helps protect players who hold accounts with more than one operator.
Supporting GamProtect is part of our wider commitment to safer gambling. It sits alongside Bally Bet's responsible gambling tools you can set yourself, giving you the right protection in place.
A customer is added when an operator's Safer Gambling team identifies serious risk of gambling-related harm during a conversation, based on what the customer has said. Only participating operators can add someone to GamProtect. You can't add yourself, and you can't remove yourself during the initial active period.
An operator identifies a customer as at risk when they state that they:
Have a gambling problem
Are seeking outside support or treatment for a gambling problem
Will harm themselves or someone else
Should not be gambling because of a medical condition
Want to stop gambling permanently because of problems with their gambling
The operator then adds the customer's registration details to GamProtect as the Closing Operator. Other participating operators check the register against their own records and act on any match.
If we receive a GamProtect match, we'll take protective action on the account. That can mean restricting play, closing the account, or keeping an existing exclusion in place.
The action we take depends on the account details, the information available, and our safer gambling obligations. A match may affect access to our casino, live casino, sportsbook, and Bally Rewards.
Bally Bet can act in either role. As the Closing Operator, we're the company that first added the customer to GamProtect. As the Receiving Operator, we've matched the customer against our records after another operator added them.
The initial active period runs for five years from the date a customer is first added by a participating operator. Removal isn't available during those five years, and every participating operator is expected to prevent the matched customer from gambling on their services.
Once the five years are up, the Closing Operator can consider a request for removal. If we added you as the Closing Operator and you'd like us to review your status, contact our Customer Service team. If another operator added you, they'll need to handle the removal request directly – so reach out to them.
Removal from the register doesn't automatically reopen your Bally Bet account.
We won't usually consider an account for reactivation while an active GamProtect restriction is in place, and any review is subject to safer gambling checks, verification, and regulatory requirements. If another operator removed you from the register, allow up to 24 hours for the update to reach us before requesting a review.
Start with the operator that added you to the register. We can only review a decision if we were the Closing Operator.
If another operator added you, they'll need to review the record before we can take any further action. Not sure who the Closing Operator is? Our Customer Service team will point you in the right direction.
Both schemes support safer gambling in the UK, but they work in different ways.
GAMSTOP is customer-led. Anyone can register at any time to block themselves from all UK-licensed online gambling sites. GamProtect is operator-led, and only applies where a participating operator has identified serious gambling-related harm.

GamProtect is one part of a wider safer gambling framework. We also offer spend limits, session reminders, session limits, an Account Cool Off tool, and Account Self Exclusion. These are controls you set yourself, straight from your account settings.
If you'd like extra support beyond a single operator, services like GAMSTOP, GamCare, and the TalkBanStop partnership offer confidential advice, blocking software, and a UK-wide self-exclusion register.
If gambling is affecting your wellbeing, finances, or relationships, help is available.
The National Gambling Helpline runs 24 hours a day on 0808 8020 133. GamCare and Gamblers Anonymous also provide confidential support across Great Britain.
If there's an immediate risk of harm, contact emergency services.
GamProtect is one part of the safer gambling framework used across UK-licensed operators. It applies only when a Safer Gambling conversation has identified serious risk of gambling-related harm, and it works differently from the controls you can set yourself.
We keep investing in safer gambling controls you can use at your own pace, from quick session reminders to long-term self-exclusion. Knowing how GamProtect works, alongside those tools, is part of playing with the right protection in place.
