Bally's Casino Newcastle: One Month On

When Bally's Casino Newcastle relaunched on 14 March, it marked something genuinely significant. Not just for Bally's, but for Newcastle’s city centre. A comprehensively redesigned venue, a packed launch night and the beginning of what we'd hoped would be a real presence in the local community.

A month on, we can say it's landed exactly as we'd hoped.

David Tait, General Manager of Bally's Casino Newcastle, said:

"We're really pleased with how the Newcastle relaunch has performed so far. The response from our customers has been fantastic, with record attendance levels and strong engagement across our events and promotions. It's a great reflection of the hard work from the team and the enthusiasm from our local community. We're excited to keep building on this momentum as we look ahead to the rest of the year."

How it started

The relaunch followed significant investment in a striking interior redesign and a suite of new facilities, all built around the idea of delivering a complete entertainment experience under one roof.

That means slots, live gaming tables, 38 electronic roulette terminals and a dedicated poker room on the gaming side. It means 44 screens showing live sport across the venue, with dedicated viewing areas and giant screens so fans never miss a moment. And it means an American diner-style menu running from lunchtime until 3:00 a.m., live entertainment every weekend and free parking, alongside 24-hour opening hours from launch night onwards.

The opening night itself set the tone. A complimentary drinks reception, live music, learn-to-play table sessions and interactive cocktail-making experiences led into a grand prize draw, with a trip for two to Las Vegas as the headline prize. It was a big night, and the weeks that followed kept the momentum going.

What's happened since

The post-launch programme has included daily competitions, live sport activations and major prize promotions, among them the Grab a Grand giveaway, which gave members the chance to win £1,000. There was also an evening with Newcastle United legend Shay Given, who joined us for a live Q&A on 21 March. Safe to say that one went down well in Newcastle.

Through all of it, the response from the local community has been the standout. The record attendance figures David mentions reflect something beyond a successful opening. They suggest Bally's Casino Newcastle is becoming exactly what it was designed to be: a genuine destination for entertainment in the city centre.

What's next

With the first month behind us, the focus now shifts to building on it. Regular events, exclusive member rewards and headline prize draws are all part of what Bally's Casino Newcastle has planned. With the venue now firmly part of The Gate's offer in the heart of the city, there's plenty more to come.

If you haven't visited yet, the doors are open 24 hours. Come and see what we've built.
