The best news? Bally Bet has got all angles covered, with pre-match and in-play bets available on every game from the tournament, plus outright wagers before it gets underway.

Read on to find out how you can experience it all with us, featuring our top Wimbledon tips and markets to wager on.

What is Wimbledon?

The Wimbledon Championships is the most prestigious and oldest Grand Slam tennis event, first being held in 1877. It’s staged at the All England Lawn Tennis and Crocquet Club in London, which has become known for its postcode - SW19.

One thing y’all need to know about Wimbledon is that it’s closely tied to its traditions. Players must wear all white on court, while in other tournaments they can sport any colours they like. Spectators are often seen eating strawberries and cream in the crowd too, becoming a staple of the event.

It’s the only Grand Slam tournament held on grass courts. Of the other Grand Slams, the US and Australian Opens are played on a hard surface, and the French Open uses clay.

When does Wimbledon start?

We’re closing in on the start of Wimbledon now, with the first serve of action pencilled in for 30 June. Two weeks of incredible drama will follow, ending on 13 July with the men’s final, which takes place a day after the women’s title is decided.

How much do Wimbledon winners get?

For players, there are millions of reasons to do well in SW19 - literally. The prize for winning the men’s and women’s singles events is £2.7m, while the runners-up take home £1.4m each¹. Overall, £50m in prize money is available, making it one of the richest tennis tournaments on the planet.

Who is favourite to win Wimbledon?

Carlos Alcaraz is the current favourite to lift the men’s Wimbledon title at betting odds of 6/4, following his success against Jack Sinner at the French Open. But Sinner is still second favourite to win at 17/10 - the Italian has already banked three Grand Slams and his performance in the French Open made for a thrilling final.

Keen on the underdogs? Skip past seven-time winner Novak Djokovic at 9/2 and look to the British underdog, Jack Draper. Currently ranked as the fourth favourite to win at 11/1, Draper may be a Wimbledon novice but is still seen as a promising contender.

The favourite for the women’s tournament is Aryna Sabalenka, has four Grand Slams and is only missing Wimbledon from her trophy cabinet. She’s available at 13/5, ahead of 2022 champion Elena Rybakina at 5/1. Mirra Andreeva and Iga Swiatek are both 13/1^.

Wimbledon betting tips

Need some Wimbledon tips before placing your first wager? We’ve got it covered. Here’s a peek at some of our top tips for betting on the most famous tournament in tennis.

  • Do the research - It’s always helpful to take a look at the stats before betting. Look at head-to-head records and recent form to get a better guide on the match.
  • Know your surfaces - Some players seem to perform better on certain surfaces. Make sure your selection has a decent record on clay, grass or hard courts.
  • Check the weather forecast - Weather can have a fairly big impact on tennis. Make sure it’s not raining or too hot, as it may interrupt the match and affect the result.
  • Find out about injuries - No one wants to risk their money on players with poor injury records. Take some time to find out if they’ve been struggling lately, as it may be one to avoid.
