Whether you’re following your club’s title chase or backing an underdog to upset the odds, our Premier League betting guide should be your one-stop starting point.
At its core, you’re predicting what you think will happen in a Premier League match or across the season and staking money on that outcome.
Every match offers scores of markets, from something as simple as the match result to more specific angles like first goal scorer or number of corners.
Beyond the 90 minutes, you can explore outright markets that cover the duration of the campaign, with popular options such as title winner, top-four finish, relegation or Golden Boot all available to choose from.
If you’re new, it’s a good idea to stick to straightforward bets and build your confidence. And if you’re more experienced, you can explore the complex and niche markets we’ve got to fine-tune your approach.
Getting in on the Premier League excitement is a cinch with us. Follow these simple steps and you’ll be up and running in next to no time:
Prefer to play while out and about? We’ve got you covered. The Bally Bet Sports & Casino app – available on Apple and Android devices – puts live betting, accas and more right in your pocket.
There are three types of odds formats available at Bally Bet. Here’s a quick reminder about how each one works.
Fractional odds (UK standard): see what you stand to win based on what your stake is. So, placing a bet with 5/2 odds means you’d win £5 for every £2 you successfully stake.
If you place a £10 bet on a match with 5/2 odds, you’d get £35 (£25 profit + the £10 stake).
Decimal odds: simple enough and allow for smaller additions. A successful £10 bet on an event at 3.5 would pay £35.
American odds: a game of favourites and underdogs. Look for negative odds (like –150) to spot a favourite, and find the underdogs by locating the positive odds (like +200).
For the underdogs, that figure represents your profit on a successful £100 bet. And for the favourites, it represents the amount you need to stake in order to win £100.
If you want to change things up, you can switch between the formats in your account settings at any time. The default fractional odds can be used to see potential profits at a glance, decimal odds can make calculating returns more straightforward and American odds are popular in, you guessed it, American sports.

A classic, straightforward wager. Bet on whether you think will take the win – home team or away team – or if it’ll end in a draw.
In a ‘1X2’ bet, the ‘1’ refers to a home team win, the ‘X’ signifies a draw and the ‘2’ means the away team wins.
For matchups with attacking strength, a BTTS wager may be an appealing option. With it, you’re betting on whether or not you think both teams will score at least once.
If one team fails to score, your bet will be marked as a loss.
Decide whether you think the total number of goals (from both teams combined) in a game will exceed or fall short of a set figure, often 2.5.
It’s obviously not possible to score 2.5 goals, taking the over here just means that you expect at least 3 goals to be scored. Taking the under means you expect there to be no more than 2.
With Draw No Bet, you get your stake refunded if the game ends level. You can still receive a payout if your selection wins, but it’ll be at smaller odds than the regular match result markets. Some bettors see it as a safer option, because there are only two outcomes to consider, not three.
As for Double Chance wager, these cover two of three possible outcomes of your choice, whether that’s the home team to win or draw (1X), the away team to win or draw (2X) or either team to win (12).
Even things out a bit with a handicap bet – you can add a goal lead or deficit to a team to improve their chances of winning.
With an Asian handicap, you can remove the chances of the game ending in a draw, so you only need to choose from two outcomes (win or loss) instead of three.
As simple as it sounds, here you’re betting on what the score will be at full time. Tougher to land than others, but they can boast bigger payouts as a result.
Focus on an individual’s performance and choose from a list of player prop bets. These include first or anytime goal scorer, number of shots or assists a player might have, which player you think will pick up a yellow or red card and much more.
Want options? Look no further. With a bet builder, you can combine two or more outcomes (known as legs) from the same game – or multiple – and reap the rewards if they’re all winners.
For example, you could add three legs - Match Result, Both Teams to Score and First Goal Scorer - all to your bet builder. You’d get longer odds by combining the legs, but a larger payout if they all come good.
Merge multiple selections into one bet with an acca. Like a bet builder, all legs need to win for the acca to be successful, but the potential returns are greater.
Accas are different from bet builders in that they’re more focused on the outcomes of different events (like Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal all winning their matches) whereas bet builders are more about different outcomes in the same event.
Missed kick-off? No worries. Live betting lets you place wagers as the match happens, with prices updating in real time to reflect what’s unfolding.
Popular in-play bets for the Premier League include next goal, live totals and handicaps, and these often mirror sudden changes in the game such as an injury and substitutions as well as tweaks to the tactics.
It’s common for bettors to use in-play bets to hedge pre-match positions or take advantage of opportunities that may develop following unexpected changes to the flow of the game.
Like playing the long game? An outright bet may be up your street if so. Outrights are wagers on season-long events such as who you think will win the league, and you can place them either before the season gets underway or as it progresses.
Keep in mind that as the season unfolds, odds can shorten. In the case of a league winner outright, this is because the prospect of a certain team winning can improve or worsen as the table takes shape.
Outrights run across the entire Premier League season, typically from August to May. Other popular picks besides the league winner can include:
Outrights can be quite a fun way to bet if you like the building excitement they can provide, but they can also offer some value if you spot a trend early, like a mid-table team quietly climbing the ranks.
There are certain aspects of the Premier League that are worthwhile keeping tabs on when it comes to placing a bet. Here are some of the most important things to keep in mind:
Team form & fixtures: Recent results matter, but so does fixture difficulty
Team news: Injuries, suspensions and rotations can all affect performance
Style matchups: Consider the teams’ tactics and look for play styles like high press vs. deep block, set-piece threats and counterattacking speed
Market choice: Use safer markets like DNB if you want insurance and consider handicaps to improve prices on strong favourites
Stake control: Stick to a budget, review your bets regularly and play within your means
But it’s not just team form and fixtures that can affect the outcome of a match. Here are some other variables to factor in:
Weather: heavy rain or wind can slow play or disrupt long balls
Pitch size: Smaller pitches can favour compact, defensive teams
Referee tendencies: Some refs give are more likely to give cards or penalties
Betting should be fun and always under your control. Bally Bet offers deposit limits, account time-outs and play history tools. If betting stops being enjoyable, take a break or seek support.
Not usually. Markets are settled after 90 minutes and stoppage time unless otherwise stated.
A form of handicap that removes the draw outcome, reducing the potential outcomes from three (win, draw, loss) to two (win, loss).
A custom bet you can place by combining multiple different event outcomes from the same game.
A custom single wager you can place by combining multiple outcomes from different matches.
You sure can. Head to your account settings to toggle between fractional, decimal and American odds.
