Thanksgiving in America means three things: gratitude, turkey and NFL football. And we’ve got something for all three games.
As our own way of showing thanks, we’re running a 30% Profit Boost* on the NFL games that take place throughout Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, 27th November).
Find out here how the promotion works and when it’s available, and why, even if you’re not usually an American football fan, these games are worth your attention.
From the 25th to the 28th of November, invited players can get a 30% profit boost on successful bet builders.
You’ll need to build your bet with at least 3 selections on any of the Thanksgiving games for the promotion to be applied.
The first game kicks off at 6 p.m. this evening, while the third and final game starts at 1:20 a.m. Friday morning. As the promotion is available for all three games, you can still use it whether you’re an early evening fan or a night owl.
Taking advantage of the promotion is simple enough:
You’ll already know this if you’ve read our bet builder article, but for those who haven't, they let you combine multiple outcomes from a single game into one bet.
A bet builder for an NFL game, for example, could include markets like game winner, total points, quarterback to throw a certain number of touchdowns and a wide receiver to make a certain number of receptions.
We’ve got plenty of markets when it comes to populating your bet slip, but with the playoffs at stake for some teams, there’s more than just betting variety on offer here. Historically speaking, the motivated performances that these games tend to foster are worth keeping in mind when looking for market value.
And, as we discuss in our NFL betting guide, while this is a team sport, there’s a whole lot of focus on individual performances. And that’s reflected in the vast number of player markets that come with each game. From touchdown scorers to field goal totals, the sheer volume of individual markets available on these games puts other sports to shame.
Besides being a crucial point in the NFL season, the games taking place on Thanksgiving are steeped in tradition.
Detroit Lions – who face off against the Green Bay Packers this time round – have hosted this fixture at home since 1934. And the Lions have turned their stadium, Ford Field, into a fortress in recent years, and going into this game with a 7-4 record means they’ll be amped up about extending their lead on such a significant day in front of so many fans. And as it gets underway at 6:00 p.m., this game is ideal for anyone wanting to watch without messing up their bedtime.
Second up in the programming is the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. Like the Lions, the Cowboys have been playing at home (which is currently the AT&T Stadium) on Thanksgiving since 1966. And although the Chiefs are touted as favourites to win, the Cowboys have prevailed in their Thanksgiving fixture three seasons on the bounce.
The Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals wrap things up at 1.20 a.m. Friday morning, with the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson leading the charge against the Bengals’ Joe Burrows in what’s expected to be a hotly contested AFC North rivalry game. If you’re still awake for this matchup, expect to see fireworks.
Whether you’re thinking of watching just one game or the entire trilogy, you can be sure of a dramatic evening. Our 30% profit boost promotion is that extra play on top.
