In a standard slot, each reel holds a fixed number of symbols. But in these games, a random reel modifier determines how many symbols appear on each reel with every spin, meaning the structure of the game changes constantly, and no two spins look quite the same.

Ways to Win on a Megaways Slot

In a standard slot, paylines are fixed. You know before you spin exactly how many ways you can win. These games are different.

The number of ways to win is calculated by multiplying the number of symbols on each reel together. On a six-reel Megaways slot with seven symbols on each reel, that's 7×7×7×7×7×7. That equals 117,649, the maximum number of ways to win. Because the number of symbols on each reel changes with every spin, so does that number.

Land a winning combination and, in most titles, those winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones dropping in from above. That's the cascading reels mechanic at work. If the new symbols form another win, the process repeats, meaning a single spin can produce a chain of consecutive wins before it's done.
